Reactions Users sound off on CNN/World Soccer Top 10Posted: Monday September 24, 2001 5:08 PMUpdated: Monday March 10, 2003 12:47 PM CNN and World Soccer magazine release their votes each Monday for the Top 10 football clubs worldwide, and we want to know your opinion. Below is a selection of some of the best feedback from the last week. Check back next week to see the response to this week's Top 10. To see seemingly flawless Bayern Munich receive half of the points of a faltering Inter Milan seems outrageous. The Bundesliga is not the Scottish League. Bayern will most likely bag the league title and the cup title this year. Show the Germans some hard earned respect.
I am surprised to see that Ajax is not in the top 10. They are currently the leaders in a Champions League group including the current number one Arsenal and number seven Valencia.
In their last two games Real Madrid have scored nine goals! Can AC Milan stop this rain of goals off the boots of the most lethal men in world soccer?
A thrilling encounter awaits us all at the Bernabeu this Wednesday! Positions would surely change amongst the top three teams on the rankings!
I think Arsenal is justified in being number 1. No other club can be so swift and accurate at passing. I also think some African clubs like Zamalek deserve a spot in the top ten.
What about Celtic FC? They are still alive in the UEFA Cup beating teams like Blackburn, Celta Vigo and Stuttgart on their way to the quarterfinals, they are also still in the Scottish Cup and League Cup and only six points behind Rangers in the SPL with a game in hand and the Old Firm derby coming up... when will Celtic get the respect they deserve.
Hey guys! Where is Corinthians in this ranking? I guess the only club world champion, Brasil Cup and Rio-Sao Paulo champion, leader on his group at Libertadores Cup deserves at least fifth position on this chart. We made all three finals of three 3 most important championships last year and we won two of them.... You think European soccer is better? Put those European teams to play here, we would beat the hell out of them.
What is Man U doing at 7? After supporting them for the past 11 (and many more years to come) this is the worst I've seen them play, yes, last season was much better. Sir Alex should take a break and give the reigns to an up and coming manager like Martin O'Neill. I also don't think that Porto should be there, although I think Pedro Pinto might disagree with me.
Did someone mentioned about being fair? You have to see Besiktas JK's success, in both UEFA Cup and Turkish League.
Besiktas JK is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. And I think everyone will applaud Besiktas JK soon.
I don't know why, but I just have the feeling that Newcastle Utd is going to become one of the strongest teams in Europe if they can keep up with their current form.
A lot of people have been complaining about the lack of South American sides making the top 10 list. The reason for that is that the vast majority of the South American superstars and World Cup winners are playing in Europe. No one is doubting that South American football is top quality; it's just that most of the good South American players are playing very well in Europe. So, South American football can be regarded as possibly the best in the world. Just look at the World Cup results. However, it is very clear that the best club teams in the world are definitely located in Europe.
