Espanyol took advantage of the red card on Deportivo defender Fabricio Coloccini with 30 minutes remaining. The date of the second-leg match has been moved to accommodate Espanyol's fixture in the UEFA Cup. In Liga Primera action, Valencia took home all three points from the Riazor Stadium with a 1-0 win last weekend. David Villa scored his 14th goal of the season for Valencia, which exacted a little revenge on Deportivo for its recent elimination in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals. Deportivo has just one point in its last four matches in La Liga and has fallen nine points back of a Champions League berth. Midfielder Sergio could look to find a new club this summer. Sergio, a $14-million signing from Espanyol years ago, is now past the prime of his career. Deportivo is reportedly interested in signing Malaga midfielder Juan Rodriguez this summer.
