In 1999, Valencia defeated Real Madrid 6-0 in the semifinals of the Copa del Rey. The stunning loss to Zaragoza took some of the confidence out of the Real Madrid dressing room. In Liga Primera action, Real Madrid cruised to their fourth straight win, a 4-0 victory over Espanyol on the weekend. Captain Raul continues his rehabilitation and could be ready to play in two to three weeks. This weekend Real Madrid travel to the Basque country for a match against Athletic Bilbao in a match that features two of the three sides never to be relegated in Spain. Unfortunately for Athletic, they are candidates for relegation this season.
