  • Dallas has the first pick when MLS holds its SuperDraft Feb. 10 in New York. These are the 12 players Soccer America believes are most likely to be drafted in the first round (not necessarily in the order they are listed):

    1. D Chris Gbandi, Connecticut

Status: College senior. Scouting report: Left-footed, athletic and tough; unanimously considered an MLS starter.

    2. M Kyle Martino, Virginia

Status: P-40 (College junior). Scouting report: Clever playmaker capable of finding seams; may need seasoning.

    3. F Luchi Gonzalez, SMU

Status: College senior. Scouting report: Able to dance out of tight spaces and finish efficiently.

    4. F Mohammed Fahim, SMU

Status: College senior (Egyptian). Scouting report: Crafty possession forward with a surprising burst of speed.

    5. M Brad Davis, Saint Louis

Status: P-40 (college sophomore). Scouting report: A clean passer with left-footed weaponry and good vision.

    6. M Kelly Gray, Portland

Status: P-40 (college sophomore). Scouting report: Defensive instincts make him most versatile of Project-40 crop.

    7. D Danny Jackson, North Carolina

Status: College senior (Englishman). Scouting report: Quiet, steady and error-free with limited physical tools.

    8. M Craig Capano, Chicago Sockers

Status: P-40 (high school). Scouting report: A keen, shifty central player whose only question mark is size.

    9. D Lee Morrison, Stanford

Status: College senior. Scouting report: Superb aerial ballwinner plays simply and smartly.

    10. F John Barry Nusum, Furman

Status: College senior. Scouting report: Dual citizenship helps this powerful Bermudan international.

    11. M Justin Mapp, Jackson, Miss., FC

Status: P-40 (high school). Scouting report: Left-sided whiz who can make space, but defense needs work.

    12. M Jordan Stone, Dallas Texans

Status: P-40 (high school). Scouting report: Holding midfielder with notable range and size for his age.
