CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The United States women's national soccer team will square off against South Korea on June 14 on the campus of the University of Utah in preparation for the 2003 World Cup held in China from September 23-October 11.

This will be the first ever international match played in the state of Utah and will be televised live at 9 p.m. EST on ESPN2.

The U.S. women are currently training in Charleston, S.C. in preparation for Sunday match against Iceland, which kicks off at 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

The U.S. women have played domestic matches in 26 states but only one in the intermountain region of Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and Nevada -- that in Denver in 1999.

"We always love to go to new venues and play in front of fans who might not have seen the team play live before," coach April Heinrichs said. "Salt Lake City is a beautiful place and we are looking forward to playing in front of appreciative fans at a fantastic venue."

The Americans have played South Korea three times, recording victories of 7-0 and 6-1 in 1997, and 5-0 in 1999.
