U.S. women to play England in Alabama

CHICAGO (AP) -- The U.S. women's soccer team will play England in an exhibition game May 17 at Birmingham, the team's first game in Alabama.

The American team has six exhibition games planned before the Women's World Cup, which starts in September. The U.S. men's team has played twice at Legion Field, which also was a site for the 1996 Olympic soccer tournament.

Upcoming for the U.S. women's team is the Algarve Cup in Portugal, where the Americans play Canada on March 14, Norway on March 16 and Sweden on March 18. The U.S. team also plays South Korea on June 14 at Salt Lake City,
