LONDON (Reuters) -- Following is factfile on Manchester United and England midfielder David Beckham, who was banned for one game on Friday following his red card in Thursday's Club World Championship match against Necaxa.

Born: May 2, 1975, in Leytonstone, London

1993: Joined Manchester United as trainee.

1994/95: Made United first team debut at 19.

1995/96: Became regular in United team, playing 33 games as they won league and FA Cup double.

1996/97: Scored from halfway line in opening day victory over Wimbledon. United won the league again.

Made England debut in September 1997 World Cup qualifier against Moldova.

1997/98: Became fully established in England team but after scoring in World Cup against Colombia went home in disgrace after being sent off for kicking out at Argentinian midfielder Diego Simeone.

Signed new five-year contract at Old Trafford worth five million pounds (US$8.22 million). Faced jeers from opposition fans at every ground he played at.

1999: March - Became a father when then-fiancee Victoria Adams -- Posh Spice of the Spice Girls - gave birth to son Brooklyn.

May: Played vital role as United completed the treble of European Cup, English league and FA Cup.

July: Married Victoria Adams.

October: Fined two weeks' wages for appearing at a party in London shortly before a Champions League game.

Summoned by Football Association for informal meeting to discuss his behaviour after series of bookings.

December: Avoided driving ban for speeding in his Ferrari after claiming he was trying to escape a photographer.

Named runner-up to Rivaldo in European Footballer of the Year awards.

2000: January: Sent off in United's first game in World Club Championship for foul on Jose Milian of Mexican club Necaxa.
