Profile
Midfielder Ramelow has broken into the national team set-up as a result of Bayer Leverkusen's outstanding performances in the last few season, which was almost capped with a first Bundesliga title last term. Ramelow's midfield work has helped to create chances for the outstanding forward line of Ulf Kirsten, Paulo Rink and Oliver Neuville, with both Kirsten and Rink joining Ramelow at Euro 2000. Ramelow has edged out the likes of teammates Stefan Beinlich and Bernd Schneider for a place in the final 22, but Ramelow is likely to remain on the subs bench for the summer action. Made his international debut against Turkey in the 1-0 defeat during qualifying and has yet to open his goalscoring account for the national team.
