Profile
The Real Madrid midfielder will be hoping coach Lemerre remembers his ability after he spent most of the 1999/2000 season on the bench at the Bernabeu. An all-action midfielder, he came to prominence with Nantes, helping the club win the league title in 1994/95, alongside the likes of Ouedec, Pedros and Loko. Serie A side Sampdoria took him to Italy in 1995, but after a couple of seasons he fell into dispute with the Genoa club and after a long spell on the sidelines he was sold to Real Madrid during the 1997/98 season. He had the last laugh as he helped Real win the Champions' League, but he has been in and out of the side ever since and did not make the side for any of France's Euro 2000 qualifiers.
