| Profile |
| The Monaco striker has found his form during the 1999/2000 season to fire his side to the French league title and he ended the campaign alongside Lyon's Sonny Anderson as the league's leading marksman.
Born to Argentinian parents, he moved back to France in 1995 and was signed up by Jean Tigana at Monaco. It quickly became apparent he was a special talent after his fine performances in the 1997 World Youth Cup.
Trezeguet was a regular member of the French World Cup-winning side, playing in five of the six matches, but scored only one goal, against Saudi Arabia, and missed out on the final itself.
Made only one start in Euro 2000 qualification, but scored the vital winner against Iceland in the final game after coming on as a second-half substitute.
