| Profile |
| Pacy striker Wiltord was the leading scorer in the French league during Bordeaux's
successful 1998/99 campaign and has edged out club colleague Lilian Laslandes in the
squad for Euro 2000.
The partnership has continued to deliver the goods in the 1999/2000 season, with their
joint total up towards the 30-mark, despite Wiltord falling-out with the club a few months
ago. Wiltord moved to Parc Lescure in 1997 from Rennes and scored twice in the Euro 2000
qualifiers and in the recent friendly with Scotland.
Wiltord's direct approach gives coach Lemerre a useful option up front, although the form
of both Nicolas Anelka and David Trezeguet should mean that the Bordeaux man has to settle
for a place on the bench.
