| The Bordeaux keeper has been one of the key figures in the success of his side in recent seasons, including their championship win in 1998/99, sealed in the last minute of the last game. His form earned him a call-up to French colours and an international debut in the Euro 2000 qualifier against Andorra in June last year.
A steady, cool, reliable keeper, he is unlikely to dislodge Barthez as number one choice, but his assured displays will earn him a trip across the border in the summer.
He moved to Parc Lescure in 1997 from Angers and has been an unqualified success, giving the Girondins a firm base to build on.
