With Holland already through to the last eight, Belgium can join their fellow host nation in the quarter-finals if they can avoid defeat against Turkey on Monday. But despite needing just a point, Belgium are vowing to attack Turkey from the start knowing they can exceed expectations by progressing to the quarters for the first time since 1972. Nico Van Kerckhoven and Philippe Leonard are Belgium's only injury doubts while Marc Wilmots is confident of shaking off a slight thigh strain. After beating Sweden in the tournament opener, Belgium failed to impress against a solid Italy side, but they will still be favourites against Turkey who have picked up just one point from their opening two games. Hakan Sukur, set to join Inter Milan after the tournament, has looked dangerous in spurts and he will have to be at his prolific best if Turkey are to cause an upset and reach the last eight. Belgium's attack will once again be led by Emile Mpenza, who scored in the 2-1 victory over Sweden, while Luc Nilis, who has appeared only as a substitute in the opening two matches could start alongside him. The Aston Villa-bound striker still oozed class despite not being fully fit after injury, and it would be no surprise if he starts against the Turks. Equally, however, he may be kept in reserve with tougher battles to fight should Belgium qualify.
