COPENHAGEN, June 24 (Reuters) - Denmark and Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stig Tofting has been arrested and charged with violence following an incident at a restaurant in central Copenhagen, police said on Monday.

The 32-year-old Tofting met his Danish team mates for a post World Cup reunion on Saturday.

The charge carries the threat of a fine or even a jail sentence.

Denmark knocked defending champions France out of the World Cup, beating them 2-0 in their final group game. After finishing top of their group, they went out in the second round following a 3-0 defeat to England.
