AMSTERDAM (Reuters) -- Dutch first division side PSV Eindhoven hope to woo back their former coach Guus Hiddink in talks this coming weekend after he took South Korea to the World Cup semi-finals, the club said on Monday.

Hiddink is expected to move to a club in Europe after engineering an amazing turnaround for South Korea after 18 months as their coach.

"Everything will be finalised when Hiddink returns to the Netherlands," a PSV spokesman said. Hiddink spoke to PSV chairman Harry van Raaij earlier on Monday.

Hiddink, 55, had spells with PSV Eindhoven, Turkish club Fenerbahce and Spain's Valencia before taking over the Dutch national team in 1995. He led PSV to victory in the 1988 European Cup.

He took the Dutch national team to the quarter-finals of the 1996 World Cup and then coached Real Madrid and Real Betis before taking over the South Korean side in 2000.

"We are placing all our bets on one horse because we are confident of a good outcome. The only nuisance is that it is taking such a long time," chairman van Raaij was quoted as saying in the Dutch media last week.

"PSV has an agreement with Guus Hiddink that he talks to us first. I am assuming we will strike a deal," he added.

Hiddink is expected to fill the vacancy left when PSV parted company with Erik Gerets in May after finishing second in the league to Ajax.
