Venue information

Daegu, also known as Taegu, is Korea's third largest city with a population of 2.5 million and is the industrial base for textiles and fashion. The stadium, which opened on May 20, 2001, hosted 2001 Confederations Cup matches. It will be venue for the No. 3 vs. No. 4 playoff matches.

The $220 million multipurpose stadium is the largest of the 10 World Cup stadiums in terms of its seating capacity. Its eagle-shaped roof design captures the linear beauty of a traditional Korean house.

 
In group matches, Denmark and Senegal meet June 6 in a Group A match, South Africa is against Slovenia in a Group B match June 8 and the Koreans host the United States here on June 10.
