Venue information

Jeonju, also known as Chonju, is on the southwestern part of Korea, about 240 kilometers (150 miles) southeast of Seoul. It is the capital of North Jeolla province and home to more than 600,000 people.

The $110 million stadium is designed to incorporate the linear look of a Korean zither and a traditional Jeonju fan and the Sot-Dae, a traditionally Korean image of a bird on a long pole facing the North Star. The stadium opened on Nov.8, 2001.

 
The soccer-only stadium is 9 kilometers (5 miles) from the city center.

The Stadium will host a Group B match between Spain and Paraguay on June 7 and June 10 Group D match between Poland and Portugal.
