Venue information

The modern stadium features a roof over the main and back stands, which are closest to the field of any of Japan's venues. Kobe is a major port city in western Japan extensively rebuilt since 1995, when an earthquake killed more than 6,000 residents. The venue is located near several schools, and school administrators have decided to cancel classes during World Cup games over concerns about possible fan riots.

Kobe Wing Stadium is located 5 kilometers (3 miles) from the city center and will host two first-round matches -- Russia vs. Tunisia and Sweden vs. Nigeria- - and a match in the round of 16.
