Venue information

Jeju Island is Korea's main tourist center. The island has about 500,000 inhabitants but hosts more than 3.7 million tourists each year. It is famed as Korea's 'honeymoon island.'

The soccer-only stadium, which opened with a South Korea vs. United States friendly international last December, is 4 kilometers (2.4 miles) outside Seogwipo, the second largest city on the island. It overlooks a scenic coastline and sits in the shadows of Mount Halla, one of South Korea's highest peaks.

The $85.3 million stadium is designed to symbolize one of Jeju's many secondary volcanoes while its roof represents a net flung from a fishing boat.

It is 45 kilometers (27 miles) from Jeju International Airport.

The island will host the Group C match between Brazil and China on June 8 and the Group B match between Slovenia and Paraguay on June 12.
