Venue information

The circular stadium is near the coastal city of Shizuoka, which is dominated by its massive neighbor Mount Fuji, Japan's highest and holiest mountain. Split into two tiers and covered by a Teflon roof, Stadium Ecopa -- an abbreviation of Ecology Park -- uses recycled rainwater to water the natural turf pitch. More than 5,500 of the stadium's seats can be moved onto the track for a closer view of the field.

The stadium, which has been used primarily for international youth soccer tournaments and track and field events, is located 52 kilometers (32 miles) from the center of Shizuoka City.
