Venue information

Selected as venue for the World Cup final.

The stadium, Japan's largest, supplements its power needs using electricity generated by a city-operated waste incineration plant and uses rainwater collected from eaves covering the stands to water the field and flush bathroom toilets.

Home of J-League club Yokohama F Marinos, it is also used for track and field and other sports.

Once a quiet fishing village, Yokohama is now a major port with a population of 3.4 million. Site of the 2001 Confederations Cup final.

The stadium, located 6 kilometers (4 miles) from the city center, will also host three first round matches.
