MARSEILLE, July 4 (Reuters)-- Dutch striker Dennis Bergkamp said his last-minute goal that sealed a 2-1 win over Argentina in a World Cup quarterfinal on Saturday was the most important of his career.

"It's wonderful -- it was a great pass from Frank [de Boer]," said Bergkamp who scored in the 90th minute, just moments after Argentine playmaker Ariel Ortega was sent off.

Asked if the goal was the most important of his career, Bergkamp replied, "Yes, absolutely.

"There was everything in that match. The moment for us was when Ortega went off which gave us great energy. In the end we deserved to win because we had a very good second half."

Bergkamp also set up the first Dutch goal for Patrick Kluivert in the 12th minute.

"That was a beautiful moment," Bergkamp said. Claudio Lopez replied for Argentina in the 18th minute.

Arthur Numan was sent off for the Dutch in the 76th minute for a second yellow card.

"We had to play differently. I had to play a bit more in defense. It was a hard blow for us knowing we might have to go into extra time because with all that heat we were very tired. Ortega balanced things up."

They now play Brazil in the semifinal on Tuesday in Marseille. "We're looking forward to it. We don't have much time to rest and to prepare for the Brazil match," Bergkamp said.
