Nantes

Nantes is the biggest Atlantic port and fourth biggest coastal city in France. The city of 252,000 residents is well versed at hosting events. The biggest each year is the International Fair of Nantes, held each April, when 150,000 people visit. Nantes is also known for its restaurants and excellent seafood. The city boasts a large shipbuilding industry and is still very involved in international trade. The castle in Nantes that was home of the Dukes of Brittany is now undergoing a major restoration.

Stadium
La Beaujoire - Louis Fonteneau, Nantes

A new stadium, La Beaujoire, was built in 1984 when France hosted the European Championships. The stadium has been further renovated for the World Cup and will have a capacity of 39,500. It is located about four miles from downtown.
