LONDON (CNN/SI) -- Brief reports of English Premier League matches over the weekend: Played on Saturday: Blackburn 0, Newcastle 0 (0-0) Blackburn's Jeff Kenna missed a chance to give new coach Brian Kidd a win in his first official game when his penalty kick went off the post. Kenna also missed a penalty kick against Newcastle earlier this month in a League Cup match. In truth, the 0-0 draw was about right in a drab match as Blackburn stayed in 18th place -- two off the bottom. Derby 2, Chelsea 2 (1-0) Horacio Carbonari gave Derby a 1-0 lead in the 26th, but Chelsea -- unbeaten in the league since a loss in the season-opener -- rallied with goals by Tore Andre Flo (55) and Gustavo Poyet (59) and looked set to move into first place. But substitute Dean Sturridge scored in second-half injury time to equalize. Everton 1, Southampton 0 (1-0) Ibrahima Bakayoko scored in the 31st as Everton picked up a victory as the Merseysiders moved near the middle of the table. The Ivory Coast striker has blossoed since Duncan Ferguson was sold to Newcastle last month. Southampton stayed in last place and looks doomed to relegation. Leicester 3, Nottingham Forest 1 (1-1) Pierre Van Hooijdonk gave Forest a 1-0 lead in the 14th, his third goal since re-joining the club. But Emile Heskey tied in the 43rd and Matt Elliott gave Leicester a 2-1 lead on a penalty in te 55th. Three minutes later, Van Hooijkonk got a red card for violent conduct, setting the stage for Steve Guppy's winner in the 75th. Middlesbrough 1, West Ham 0 (1-0) This was Paul Gascoigne's best game since returning from drug and alcohol treatment. Gascoigne commanded midfield and b- after blowing several leads in recent games -- Middlesbrough held on after Brian Deane's strike in the 40th. Boro holds fourth place with 27 points. Sheffield Wednesday 3, Charlton 0 (1-0) Andy Booth (13), Benito Carbone (64) and Petter Rudi (77) scored for Wednesday as Charlton -- promoted this season to the Premier League -- suffered its seventh straight game without a victory. Tottenham 2, Manchester United 2 (2-0) This game was as hard-fought as any all season. Norway's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave United a 2-0 lead on goals in the first 18 minutes. United was forced to play the last 50 minutes a man short after Gary Neville picked up his second yellow card. It proved too much as Sol Campbell scored on headers in the 70th and 90th to equalize.
