LONDON (AP) -- Substitute Roberto Baggio fired two goals in the last four minutes Wednesday to lift Inter Milan to a 3-1 victory over defending titlist Real Madrid in the Champions League and revive his club's title hopes. The veteran striker entered the game 22 minutes from the end with the score tied 1-1 and Inter looking in danger of going out. He edged Inter in front four minutes from the end and the brought the 80,000 fans to their feet with a another goal in injury time as Inter moved to the top of Group C with Real second and Spartak Moscow third. In the other Group C game, Spartak was surprisingly held 0-0 at home by Sturm Graz, the Austrian team gaining its first point after four losses. On a night of amazing soccer and scores, Barcelona and Manchester United fought out another 3-3 draw -- the same scoreline they had at Old Trafford -- and the Spanish soccer giant dropped out of the competition. Rivaldo scored two goals and hit the crossbar from 30 yards and Tobagan striker Dwight Yorke netted two for the Reds who fell behind to Sonny Anderson after 50 seconds of a game which was a great advertisement for attacking soccer.
United lost the Group D standings lead to Bayern Munich which easily downed Denmark's Brondby 2-0 and the two clubs must meet at United's Old Trafford in two weeks to see who finishes on top of the group. English titlist Arsenal went out after a 1-0 flop to French titlist Lens at Wembley in Group E, and Ajax Amsterdam surprisingly lost 1-0 at home to last place Croatia Zagreb in Group A and is in danger of going out too. Dynamo Kiev came from behind to beat group leader Panathinaikos 2-1 and will go to Lens to decide who tops the group. Both teams have eight points, two more than Panathinaikos. With Ajax losing, Greek titlist Olympiakos went to the top of Group A with a 2-1 victory over Portugal's FC Porto. German champion Kaiserlautern suffered its first defeat, a 2-1 loss at Benfica but still looks almost certain to make it to the last eight. Kaiserlautern still has a three point lead in the Group F standings and needs a draw at home to HJK Helsinki in two weeks to guaratee top place. Three goals by the leading scorer in Dutch soccer, Ruud Van Nistelrooij, gave last place PSV Eindhoven a 3-1 win at HJK Helsinki in Finland in the other Group F game. Norway's Rosenborg moved to the top of Group B by beating Athletic Bilbao 2-1. The Norwegians replace Galtasaray because the Turkish club's game against Juventus was postponed a week because of an ongoing political conflict between Turkey and Italy.
