TURIN, Italy (AP) -- Arrigo Sacchi, the former coach of AC Milan and of the Italian national team, met Friday with the Turin prosecutor looking into doping in Italian soccer.

Sacchi spent about three hours in the office of prosecutor Raffaele Guariniello, who opened his investigation in August.

"The judge is doing his job seriously," was Sacchi's only comment before driving away in a taxi.

Guariniello has questioned dozens of coaches, trainers, team officials and players -- including former stars Diego Maradona and Michel Platini -- during his inquiry prompted by remarks of AS Roma coach Zdenek Zeman about sudden muscular development among Serie A players.

Sacchi, who led Italy to second place in the 1994 World Cup in the United States, said recently he planned to retire from soccer following his dismissal earlier this month from Atletico Madrid in the Spanish league. Sacchi was fired after his team had lost its fourth straight and dropped to ninth place.
