MILAN, Italy (AP) -- Diego Simeone will be out three weeks after spraining his left ankle in Internazionale of Milan's Champions Cup game against Manchester United.

The Argentine midfielder hurt himself early in Wednesday night's match when he collided with United 'keeper Peter Schmeichel, and limped off the field in the 32nd minute.

"Simeone is in very bad shape," Inter coach Mircea Lucescu said. "His ankle is swollen and I'm afraid we're going to have to do without him for a long time -- at least three weeks."

Inter and United drew 1-1 at San Siro Stadium, a result that allowed the Premier League leaders to move into the cup semifinals on a 3-1 aggregate.
