LONDON (AP) -- Ryan Giggs ran through the entire Arsenal defense for the winning goal and put Manchester United into the FA Cup final with a pulsating 2-1 victory over defending titlist Arsenal.

His team down to 10 men and under constant pressure in extra time, Giggs collected the ball 70 yards out. He ran towards the goal, dribbled past two defenders on the edge of the penalty area, then weaved past two more opponents before firing a powerful, left-foot shot into the roof of David Seaman's net.

The goal in the semifinal replay came at the end of probably the best game of the season between two of the superpowers of English soccer.

David Beckham put United ahead with a brilliant 18th minute shot from 25 yards and a deflected shot from Dennis Bergkamp tied the game up in the 68th minute.

The drama and thrills never let up. United's best player on the night, Irish midfielder Roy Keane, was sent off and Bergkamp had an injury-time penalty shot saved by goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel.

United goes on to meet Newcastle in the May 22 final at Wembley.

"It was unbelievable," United manager Alex Ferguson said of the Giggs goal. "That goal will be replayed many times. We have got to put that game in the memory bank."
