Aresnal nears deal for Luzhny
Dynamo Kiev defender will make move after season

KIEV (Reuters) -- Ukraine international Oleg Luzhny is expected to join Arsenal after the end of the season, Dynamo Kiev confirmed on Thursday.
"The deal is almost done," manager for international affairs Viktoria Babaritskaya told Reuters. "There were just minor details left to be worked out between our clubs, but I think we can get it done this week."
She declined to give any financial details of a transfer fee for the Dynamo full-back although the figure of $1.8 million pounds ($3 million) has been widely reported in the English media.
Luzhny, 30, played against Arsenal in the Champions League this season and made a strong impression on Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
The move is seen as the first stage in Wenger's long-term plan to dismantle Arsenal's famous defensive line which has played together for more than a decade.
Luzhny nearly joined Benfica last summer but the deal fell through. He had also been linked with a move to Newcastle United in England.
