ROME (AP) -- Alessandro Del Piero's first action goal of the season gave Juventus a pivotal 1-0 win Sunday over AC Parma, maintaining the Turin squad's two-point lead heading into the final week of the Serie A season.

Second-place Lazio kept pace with Juventus with a 3-2 road win over Bologna, as Argentine midfielder Diego Simeone registered a goal and an assist.

But Juventus (21-8-4) moved one step closer to its record 26th Italian soccer league title, outlasting a stubborn Parma squad fighting for a Champions League slot.

Del Piero, who had scored all eight of his previous goals this season on penalty shots, knocked in a slicing header off a cross from Gianluca Pessotto in the 60th minute.

The referee waved off what would have been a tying goal by Parma's Fabio Cannavaro in the waning moments, whistling an irregularity in the crowded penalty area.
