DUBLIN (Reuters) -- Irish manager Mick McCarthy has lost three more players to injury ahead of a friendly with Scotland on Tuesday, the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) said on Monday.

Charlton Athletic's Mark Kinsella, Kenny Cunningham of Wimbledon and Derby County man Rory Delap have all failed fitness tests and will miss the game and the subsequent trip to the United States to play in a four-nation tournament.

Ireland has added Gareth Farrelly of Bolton Wanderers to their squad. Farrelly can play in midfield or defense.

Ireland was already without Manchester United captain Roy Keane for the Scotland game and the U.S. tour.

McCarthy has not named his team for the Scotland friendly but has said veteran striker Niall Quinn will captain the team in the absence of Keane. Midfielder Stephen McPhail of Leeds United is also certain to win his first cap against the Scots at Lansdowne Road.

Ireland plays Mexico, the United States and South Africa in a tournament in early June.
