| London-born Neil, nicknamed Razor, is a powerful, seasoned, central defender, strong in the air and uncompromising in the tackle. Apart from his defensive skills he has never been afraid to unleash a thunderbolt left foot shot and his physical presence and aerial power are feared at set-pieces and corners. Neil has done the rounds from Millwall to Southampton then Tottenham before moving to Anfield. He lost his place in Liverpool's defence with the Merseysider's dip in form and change of management and after being sidelined his level of fitness came into question.Went on loan to QPR before a close season transfer to West Ham in 1998 on an appearance related contract. In the 1998/99 season Razor looked leaner and sharper and was an important part of the East Londoner's defensive line-up. |
