Mustapha Hadji
Coventry
Born: 11/16/71
Hometown: Ifrane, Morocco
Hadji has long been seen as one of the outstanding talents of African football. In 1993 he was selected for both France and Morocco, but chose the African country and has not looked back since, appearing in the last two World Cup finals. He started his career in France with Nancy, before moving to Portugal to play for Sporting Lisbon and then on to Spain with Deportivo La Coruna. He is a tall, quick, skilful midfielder, who is able to play on either flank, or just behind the strikers. He showed all this ability with an outstanding goal at France 98 against Norway and a £4million transfer brought him to Highfield Road, where he joined his close friend Youssef Chippo.Hadji is now the captain of Coventry City that is testimony to an outstanding first season at Highfield Road during the 1999/2000 season where he has become a big favourite with the fans.
