| An England Under-21 international who is most comfortable as an orthodox right-back although he is capable of playing on the opposite flank or in the midfield.Earlier in his Manchester City days Edghill had a 21-month lay-off with a career threatening knee injury but came back during the 1997/98 season to play 28 consecutive league and cup games.Since overcoming his serious injury the Oldham-born defender has been a virtual regular in the right-back slot and played a major part in City's promotion season in 1999/2000.A one-club man Edghill is a speedy and attacking type of player who crosses a ball with pinpoint accuracy.He works the line very well and is a busy kind of player who rarely shirks from the physical challenge. |
