| Michael Ball |
Everton Born: 10/02/79 Hometown: Liverpool |
| Of all the players to come through the Everton youth ranks in recent years, Ball must be the most exciting. He burst into the Everton side at the end of the 1996/97 season and was soon able to make the left-back slot his own.He displaced Andy Hinchcliffe, who was eventually sold to Sheffield Wednesday, surplus to requirements at Goodison.Ball was almost snapped up by Liverpool before signing for the Toffees. A boyhood Evertonian, he was on the Reds' books as a schoolboy before returning to the blue fold.Even then Everton had to fight off Manchester United for his signature. An England Under-21 international with a sound technical ability Ball is widely tipped for full international honours. |
