| Flo made his name at Brann Bergen, before joining the Blues for £300,000 in August 1997. He had starred for Norway in their 4-2 friendly victory over Brazil in the previous May and he repeated the trick when scoring a late equaliser against the same opposition in Marseille during France 98, the Norwegians going on to win the game 2-1.A tall, rangy striker, Tor Andre has excellent ball skills and a good turn of pace, but despite this has often found himself on the bench. This has prompted inevitable interest from a number of other clubs, but Vialli knows that Flo still has his best years ahead of him and is unlikely to let him leave Stamford Bridge. Flo’s two older brothers have both played in England, Jostein used to play for Sheffield United and Havard played for Wolves. Season 1999/2000 was again a typical term for the Norwegian.He was occasionally the victim of Vialli's squad system but he continued to find the net with great regularity scoring 19 goals in 56 first team outings in all competitions. However, the rumours of a transfer for the highly-rated striker continued, but even though there was speculation of a £20million move to Spanish club Deportivo La Coruna Chelsea remained adamant that Flo was going nowhere. |
