| Mahe signed from Paris St Germain in July 1997. On arrival he competed with Tosh McKinlay for the left-back role. An experienced defender who has genuine pace, which he exploits when rampaging forward in his wing-back role. The main downside to his play is his short temper and indiscipline, with his rashness in the tackle leading to countless red and yellow cards - most notably in the final Old Firm League encounter of 1998/99. Mahe makes no apology for wearing his heart on his sleeve nor for his love for Celtic and their fans. However, injury has so far curtailed appearances in season 2000-2001. |
