| Busy, right-sided midfield player who signed from IFK Gothenburg in 1997/98. Before that he played for Halmstads in the Swedish first division. Was told Wednesday was the right club for him by ex-Owl Roland Nilsson. Sustained a bad knee injury towards the end of the 1997/98 season against Wimbledon. However, the Swedish international had a good 1998/99 season scoring a number of vital goals.Alexandersson boosted his popularity with two goals in the shock home win against Manchester United in 1998. He faded towards the end of the season as his long lay-off started to affect his fitness and he struggled to recapture his best form. In 1999/2000 he faces a strong challenge from the incoming Celtic midfielder, Simon Donnelly. |
