| Elena Marcelino hit the headlines in England when he was at the wrong end of an alleged biting incident involving Chelsea's Dennis Wise.Central defender Marcelino was playing for Real Mallorca at the time, from where he joined Newcastle in the summer of 1999 for £5million.He impressed early in his career at St James', but then suffered a setback through injury. His height and strength make him a formidable defender and he played a key role in Real Mallorca's ma'ch to the last ever final of the European Cup Winners’ Cup, which they lost to Lazio. |
