| This whole-hearted player is considered to be one of the unluckiest in the Scottish game. Appointed club captain under Jim Jefferies in spite of being one of the youngest players in the squad, he lasted only eight minutes of the 1996 Scottish Cup final before being stretchered off with a serious knee injury. It meant he also missed Hearts' League Cup final appearance later that year. When he did fight his way back to fitness, an injury also counted him out of the 1998 cup final. An enthusiastic player who has been a supporter of the club from an early age, he never gives less than a hundred per cent. Can play as a conventional right-back or in midfield, he enjoys running at opposing defences.Lost the captaincy of the team at the end of the 1998-99 season as manager Jefferies wanted him to concentrate on regaining his form. Capped at Under-21 level for Scotland.A useful squad player who can play in defence and midfield. |
