| Paul Robinson joined Leeds as a schoolboy in May 1997. He played in the United youth team that won the FA Youth Cup Final of 1997 and reached the semis in 1998.Following the retirement of Mark Beeney together with a number of fine performances deputising for Nigel Martyn, he is now established as Martyn's understudy ahead of Portuguese 'Keeper of the Year' Nuno Santos.Leeds boss David O'Leary has captured his services until the year 2003 following the signing of a four-year contract in May 1999.Paul has seen his young colleagues play at Under-21 level for England where he has had to sit on the sidelines having been selected for the squad. Surely his time will come to shine when substituting for Martyn in the future. |
