| Signed in August 1998, Edworthy was unable to prevent Crystal Palace's relegation from the Premiership in 1997/98 despite being their player of the year.A useful addition to the Sky Blues squad, he can play in any position in defence or midfield.Edworthy prefers a central or right-sided role, but has filled the void at left-back.He has also been used in the role of libero, sweeping behind the central defenders. He started over half City's games in 1998/99, but was used mainly as a substitute during the run-in.A similar situation arose in the 1999/2000 season but Edworthy is the type of defender who could be tagged as Mr Reliable. |
