| A local lad, Scowcroft joined the club as a trainee in 1994.Although not a prolific goalscorer he did notch 13 league goals in the 1998/99 season, but in the main has taken a backseat to David Johnson in the scoring department.Prior to his best ever season in terms of goals scored the big striker suffered an horrendous injury in an East Anglian derby match against Norwich during the 1997/98 term when he was carried off the field in a neck brace and was paralysed down one side.Fortunately he made a quick and full recovery but he has consistently been dogged with injuries and has yet to reach his full potential.He is a tall and powerfully-built forward who is willing to put himself into situations where it will hurt and perhaps he has paid the price for bravery with a number of nasty knocks. |
