| A full-back with enormous potential Ashley Cole proved his ability in league football with a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace during the 1999/2000 season.His overlapping skills were very much in evidence at Selhurst Park and Cole looked comfortable in senior surroundings.He came through the ranks of Arsenal's 'Centre of Excellence' and quickly won a regular place in the title winning FA Premier Youth League line-up, while also playing in the 1998 Southern Junior Floodlit Cup Final.His Arsenal first team debut was made in the Worthington Cup at Middlesbrough on November 30 1999. |
