| Jim Jefferies made Billy McKinlay his first signing when he captured the battling midfielder on a free transfer from Blackburn Rovers.The former Hearts boss bolstered his mid-field by capturing the one-time Dundee United man in time to make his Bradford debut at Middlesbrough on Saturday November 25.Prior to joining City, the Scotland international had been loaned to Leicester City for a three-month period, but he failed to make an impression at Filbert Street and his loan spell was cut short to three weeks, allowing him to join Bradford.Although he'd originally arrived at Blackburn in a blaze of glory and with high expectations from Scotland, things never worked out in Lancashire for a player who came south with a big reputation.A no nonsense type, McKinlay will be hoping to resurrect his career at Valley Parade and repay the faith shown in him by his new manager. |
