| Gary Speed started his career with Leeds, and was a product of their sucessful youth policy.He can play anywhere in midfield. Naturally left-footed, he found his niche on the flank where he can push forward at every opportunity.He moved to Everton in 1996, but his love affair with the side he had supported as a boy turned sour midway through his second season and he was soon on his way north to Tyneside.He didn't gel immediately into the United set-up and it wasn't until he was moved to a more central role that he was able to use his pace, attacking prowess and aerial ability. |
