| Martin Baker |
Kilmarnock Born: 6/08/74 Hometown: Govan |
| The defender's first team appearances were initially restricted due to the excellent form of fellow left-back, Dylan Kerr. Baker was signed by Bobby Williamson from St Mirren in the close season of 1997 for a reported fee of £175,000, with Tom Brown moving to Love Street as part of the deal. He has performed well when he has been called into the first team, and has impressed many with his tremendous pace and his powerful left-foot. A firm favourite with the St Mirren fans when he plyed his trade at Love Street, he is widely tipped to develop into a first-team regular. Baker has also been capped for Scotland at Under-21 level ten times. Not yet a certain first choice but certainly on his way. |
