| The Hammer signed for Rangers in a £4m deal in the summer of 1996 from German Bundesliga side Hamburg. A lethal left-foot earned Albertz his nickname, and an Adidas speed test once measured his shooting at 80mph. His explosive shooting power has certainly made him one of Scotland's most popular foreign imports, and he became the first ever Rangers player to be capped by Germany when he played for his country against Romania in September 1998. He is a huge favourite of the Ibrox support and endeared himself further when he extended his contract lst season. |
