| Derek Adams |
Motherwell Born: 6/25/75 Hometown: Glasgow |
| After a fruitless spell in the reserves at Aberdeen, striker Adams left Pittodrie in the 1996 close-season, and flourished under the management of former Don Neale Cooper at Ross County, where he scored 41 goals in 69 League appearances. With scouts from both sides of the border digging out the road maps to find Dingwall, Adams signed for Motherwell in September 1998 for a fee rising to £150,000 after early season form for County which saw eight goals in as many games. Adams made his Premier League debut as a substitute against Kilmarnock on 19 September 1998 and the majority of his appearances have come from off the bench, 17 of his 31 first-team games. In that time he has scored three goals for the 'Well, with his first an unforgettable strike against Celtic. |
