| Frank Sinclair |
Leicester Born: 12/03/71 Hometown: Lambeth |
| After eight years at Stamford Bridge Frank Sinclair became a victim of Chelsea's 'buy foreign' policy. The powerfully-built central defender was ousted from the Chelsea side by the arrival of Frenchman Marcel Desailly in 1998.After clocking up more than 200 appearances for Chelsea, it was a big wrench for the Lambeth-based player to leave Stamford Bridge. One of his last acts for Chelsea was the opening goal in the 1998 Coca-Cola Cup final against Middlesbrough.A calf strain prevented his involvement in Chelsea's European Cup-Winners Cup final success.Sinclair then played in all three of Jamaica's France 98 matches before his side's first round exit.At Leicester Sinclair quickly established himself in the first team, netting one goal in 31 appearances during 1998-99.The following season he made 34 league appearances but at the beginning of season 2000/2001 injury curtailed his early term progress. |
